Strucà is a no-butter, dairy-free cake, made with extra-virgin olive oil and produced all year round. It is light and airy, with the delicate honey-vanilla flavor of panettone. It is topped with icing and Bari almonds.
The high percentage of unsaturated fats make olive oil a panacea for heart and blood vessels. Its phenols are powerful antioxidants, fighting against free radicals. A lot of healthy properties of olive oil were already known in the remote past.
