Apply for a Tax-Exempt Account
Organizations with a valid tax-exemption certificate may apply to have an existing customer account approved for tax-exempt purchases. Please sign in to your customer account before completing this application.
Approval is not automatic. We will review your documentation before updating your account. Fields marked * are required.
How Tax-Exempt Approval Works
- Sign in. Use the customer account that should receive tax-exempt status.
- Apply. Complete the form and upload a current exemption certificate.
- Wait for approval. We will review the documentation and update qualifying accounts.
What Happens After You Apply?
Submission does not immediately remove tax from your account. Our team will review the certificate and contact you if additional information is required. Once approved, qualifying purchases placed while signed in to the approved account will be processed without sales tax.
Please do not place a time-sensitive order expecting tax-exempt treatment until you have received confirmation that your account has been approved.
Tax-Exempt Account Questions
Who may apply for a tax-exempt account?
Organizations holding valid documentation that applies to their purchases may submit an application. Approval depends on the submitted certificate and applicable sales-tax requirements.
Does submitting the form immediately make my account tax-exempt?
No. The documentation must be reviewed and the customer account must be approved before tax-exempt treatment becomes active.
Do I need a customer account?
Yes. Tax-exempt status is assigned to an approved customer account, so you must create an account and sign in before applying and ordering.
Will tax be removed from an order placed before approval?
Do not assume that a pending application will remove tax from an order. Wait for approval confirmation before placing an order that needs tax-exempt treatment.
Which file types can I upload?
Upload one clear PDF, JPG, or PNG file no larger than 10 MB.
What should I leave out of the uploaded document?
Do not include Social Security numbers, payment-card information, bank information, or unrelated sensitive personal information.
