Holiday Shipping & Delivery at 5280Gourmet
What to Expect During the Christmas Rush
The holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year—and also the busiest time of the year for us at 5280Gourmet.
From late November through Christmas, our order volume increases up to five times compared to a normal week. We love being part of your holiday gifting, and we also want to be transparent about how our process works so there are no surprises.
Every Basket Is Hand-Made — No Warehouse, No Assembly Line
When you place an order with 5280Gourmet, it’s important to know that nothing is pre-made. We don’t run into a warehouse and grab a ready-to-ship basket.
Every order is hand-built from scratch and carefully assembled by one of us—Fred or Amy Kops. Products are selected individually, baskets are assembled by hand, wrapped, packed, and quality-checked before shipping or delivery.
Because of this hands-on process, it may take a few days before we get to your order, especially during peak Christmas weeks.
Ordering by December 19 Does Not Mean It Ships on the 19th
This is one of the biggest holiday misunderstandings, so we want to be very clear: placing an order by December 19 does not automatically mean it will ship that same day.
Orders are worked on in the order they are received, and during the holiday rush there may be a short production queue before your basket is completed. That said, we always do our best to move orders out as quickly as possible, and we will utilize expedited shipping when needed to help ensure delivery before Christmas.
Holiday tip: The earlier you order, the smoother everything goes—for you and for us.
“Create Your Own” Baskets May Take a Little Longer
Custom baskets are wonderful—and they also require extra coordination. If you choose a Create Your Own Gift Basket, please keep in mind that some specialty or local products may need to be ordered in, and that can add a few extra days to the process during December.
If timing is critical, ordering early or selecting one of our curated baskets is often the safest option.
Local Delivery During Christmas
Local Denver-area deliveries are usually smooth, but during peak holiday days we may temporarily turn off same-day delivery. This helps us maintain quality and accuracy when volume is at its highest.
Thank You for Supporting a Small, Family-Owned Business
5280Gourmet is a small, family-run company, and every basket that leaves our shop is something we personally stand behind. We truly appreciate your patience, your early orders, and your understanding during the Christmas rush.
Order early, relax, and let us take care of the rest.
